Contract farming can reduce transaction costs and improve agricultural productivity. With the establishment of stable and effective contractual relationships, not only have agricultural products been provided with a stable market, but the standardization, refinement, and branding transformation of agricultural products can also be realized, thus further promoting the progress of agricultural modernization. The willingness of farmers to renew their contracts is a key factor in maintaining long-term, stable cooperative relationships. This research has empirically verified the impact model of tie strength between companies and farmers in contractual agriculture on the willingness of farmers to renew their contracts and revealed the working mechanism of tie strength on sustainable participation of farmers in contract farming. This study has utilized the survey data from 286 agricultural households in Inner Mongolia, China, and the method of structural equation modeling（SEM）, with the following results:(1)Interaction and reciprocity have a significant positive influence on trust. (2)Trust has a significant positive impact on farmers' willingness to renew their contracts. Also, reciprocity and interaction have an indirect impact on contract renewal willingness through trust .(3)Perception of economic value can significantly increase the contract renewal willingness of farmers and plays a mediating role between trust and contract renewal willingness.Overall, on the basis of tie strength, this research has provided a new perspective for the investigation of the sustainable stability of contract farming and empirical evidence for the sustainable development of the contract farming supply chain.

The tradeoff between the design phase and the experimental setup is crucial to satisfy the accuracy requirement of Large Deployable Reflectors. Manufacturing errors and tolerances change the RMS of the reflecting surface and require careful calibration of the tie rod system to be able to fit into the initial design specifications. To give a possible solution to this problem, here two calibration methods, respectively for rigid and flexible ring truss support, are described. Starting from the acquired experimental data on the net nodal coordinates, the initial problem of satisfying the static equilibrium at the measured configuration is described. Then, two constrained optimization problems, for rigid and flexible ring truss support, are defined to meet RMS accuracy of the reflecting surface modifying the tie lengths. Finally, a case study to demonstrate the validity of the proposed methods is presented.

This research focuses on the knowledge-sharing intention of an expert with the purchasing decision-maker in a company as a marketing point for business-to-business transactions, where a company’s facilities expert connects the company’s purchasing decision-maker with the supplier. By providing information about the supplier’s products and companies to this decision-maker, the expert plays an important role in the purchasing decision-maker’s knowledge on suppliers. Therefore, this study aims to improve expert word-of-mouth (WOM) intentions and examines the strategies that influence them. Statistical verification is employed by considering the answers of 103 engineering experts, and a hierarchical multiple-regression analysis is used to test this study’s hypotheses. As a strategy for influencing expert WOM intentions, both the supplier’s and purchasing decision-maker’s expertise and the tie strength with the supplier are examined; the tie strength with the purchasing decision-maker is considered as the moderating variable. Three of the four hypotheses are supported. This paper gives advices to the facility suppliers who want sustained growth. they should not only appeal their expertise to the facility experts who visit their exhibition booth, but also specify who the visitors are and manage the relations with them personally with a long term perspective.

Ankyloglossia is a condition of limited tongue mobility caused by a short lingual frenulum. The diagnosis and treatment of ankyloglossia are still controversial. The main clinical problem encountered during breastfeeding is difficulty in sucking and its clinical reflections. This study aims to evaluate the newborn population born regarding ankyloglossia and to determine the results of frenotomy. We conducted an observational, cross-sectional study among newborns born in a tertiary hospital. We included all newborns born between January 1 and June 30, 2022. The study algorithm was determined before the defined dates and data were recorded during the screening period. The recorded data were retrospectively collected from the files. Within six months, 705 babies were born. Due to additional problems and other conditions that prevent breastfeeding, evaluable data of 207 (29.3%) infants could not be provided. Of the remaining 498 infants, 234 (33.2%) had ankyloglossia. Breastfeeding was unsuccessful before frenotomy in 12 Coryllos type-1 patients, and all had difficulty in sucking. Frenotomy was performed within the three-months follow-up period in all patients with complaints of inability to firmly grasp the breast, nipple slipping from the mouth, and nipple biting during the first 24 hours. In terms of breastfeeding problems, regardless of the anatomical typology, frenotomy can be performed safely in the early life with successful results. If deficiencies or difficulties in nursing is noticed in ankyloglossia patients even at the first control, frenotomy should be recommended in clinical conditions.

This paper presents the results of the experimental research and numerical analysis of three reinforced concrete deep beams with openings, designed by the Strut-and-Tie method according to the EN 1992-1-1 recommendations. All tested specimens were made in full size, with the same geometric characteristics and quality of the materials. The specimens, constructed as simply supported beams, were loaded with two concentrated forces and were tested for bending until failure. Each specimen was reinforced with different reinforcement layout determined by parameter variation within the Strut-and-Tie method. Based on the results of experimental research, it was concluded that the behavior of loaded members was in agreement with the proposed forms of the Strut-and-Tie models that were used for their design.

Prenatal hypoxia plays a crucial role in programming long-term cardiovascular dysfunction through mechanisms like endothelial dysfunction and nitric oxide system impairment, highlighting the potential of therapeutic agents, such as thiotriazoline, angiolin, mildronate, and L-arginine, for mitigating these adverse effects. Methods. Levels of sEPCR, Tie2 tyrosine kinase, VEGF-B, SOD1/Cu-Zn SOD, GPX4, and GPX1 were measured in the heart's cytosolic homogenate using ELISA. Results. Modeling prenatal hypoxia (PH) resulted in significant alterations in the concentrations of proteins linked to endothelial function and oxidative stress in the heart cytosol of experimental animals, including an increase in sEPCR and reductions in Tie-2, VEGF-B, Cu/ZnSOD, GPX4, and GPX1 levels. Postnatal administration of nitric oxide modulators (L-arginine, thiotriazoline, angiolin, and mildronate) demonstrated differential efficacy in normalizing these proteins. Notably, angiolin produced the most substantial therapeutic effect, restoring Tie2, VEGF-B, and antioxidant enzyme levels to near-normal levels. Our results highlight the efficacy of Angiolin and Thiotriazoline in restoring endothelial function and antioxidant enzyme levels in the car-diovascular system following prenatal hypoxia, supporting their potential as early postnatal in-terventions to prevent long-term cardiovascular dysfunction.

The management of skin cancer presents challenges in reconstructive surgery to achieve the best patient outcome and rapid wound healing. The most used antiseptic in pre and post operative care is Povidone Iodine solution. However, valid antiseptic alternatives should be considered. The primary endpoint of our study was to achieve the best healing in patients receiving fluorescein solution versus two comparator arms (Eosin and Povidone-Iodine).182 patients were enrolled and divided into three randomized groups according to the type of antiseptic solution received: Fluorescein (n = 63), Eosin (n= 60), and Povidone-Iodine (n = 59). To assess the endpoint of our study the ASEPSIS score was used to objectively evaluate graft healing. Results of the ASEPSIS score for each group were analyzed. The comparison demonstrated that there was no statistically significant difference among the three groups regarding the endpoint of our study, thus between fluorescein and povidone-iodine (p = 0.89), eosin and fluorescein (p = 0.54), and eosin and povidone-iodine (p = 0.81). Patients responded positively to the use of the Fluorescein antiseptic solution, although no more than the others. This study suggests that this type of antiseptic can be successfully used in skin graft management.

The growing demand for clean energy transitions has become increasingly significant, with solar energy emerging as one of the most prominent clean energy resources contributing to this effort. However, there remains limited knowledge regarding the economic feasibility of solar project development across different geographic locations and scales. This study introduces a comprehensive economic analysis framework to assess the economic viability of residential and utility-scale solar projects, using California, Tennessee, and Texas as case studies. The economic assessment is conducted through a cost-benefit analysis that adopts a full life-cycle approach, encompassing phases from permitting to demolition for both scales of solar projects. We found that utility-scale solar projects generally offer more favorable investment return ratios compared to residential projects, despite the absence of land acquisition costs and lower initial capital expenditures for the latter. Furthermore, the incorporation of energy storage solutions, such as Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS), is shown to be essential for improving the efficiency of residential solar energy usage, with efficiency gains of up to 50%. Finally, region-specific strategies, including net metering policies, electricity retail market structures, and the promotion of solar adoption, play a crucial role in enhancing the financial viability of solar projects for both residential and utility scales.

This article investigated the Automatic Generation Control(AGC) of multi-area multi-source interconnected systems with hydropower plants, thermal power plants, and wind energy. Adaptive Neuro-fuzzy controller integrated with the cascaded proportional-integral-derivative with filter (PIDF-PIDF) is a new cascaded controller (ANF-PIDF-PIDF) that has been presented as a secondary controller for applied hybrid power systems. The recent Skill Optimization Algorithm (SOA) is employed to optimize PIDF- PIDF controller parameter gains and the Adaptive Neuro-Fuzzy controller's inputs and output scaling factors. SOA is used to update the controller parameters with integral square error (ISE) employed as the objective function. A 1% step load disturbance was considered simultaneously in all three areas. The controller's performance is evaluated and compared with and without considering the effects of wind energy sources and non-linearity for ANF-PIDF-PIDF, PIDF-PIDF, and PIDF and it was determined that the ANF-PIDF-PIDF was the most efficient. The dynamic system performance is also compared with parallel high voltage direct current (HVDC) tie-lines. The investigation clearly shows that incorporating HVDC tie-line with multi-area, multi-source provides better dynamic performance in maximum amplitude, oscillation, and settling time. Additionally, sensitivity analysis is done and the optimum controller gains does not need to be reset to uncertain values in system loading conditions. All simulation results were evaluated using MATLAB 2016b.

The connection between a prefabricated reinforced concrete column and a pocket foundation is a case treated from a general perspective in the European Standard named EN 1992-1-1, and when the structural engineer deals with the dimensioning or verification of the connection, he tackles several unknowns. The present work aims to fill in the missing information by presenting detailed calculation models based on the strut-and-tie method for 4 of the widely used pocket foundations: pedestal pocket foundation with smooth, rough or keyed internal walls, and pad foundation with pocket possessing keyed internal walls. Additionally, detailed design prescriptions applicable to seismic areas are given. Afterwards, as a case study, a pocket foundation is designed in all 4 variations, having the structural design particularities, similitudes and differences pointed out. Finally, to conclude the advantages and disadvantages are mentioned for pocket foundations in respect to the type of internal wall surface used. Quantifiable data based on the case study undertaken is available.
