INTRODUCTION

The process of digitalization may be used in the operations of a company to achieve greater levels of efficiency (Thaduri et al., 2016). Today's businesses are utilizing digital technologies for a variety of tasks, including the processing of orders and the automation of marketing efforts. The advent of digitalization can foster efficiency and innovation while also making the incorporation of automation feasible (Reddy et al., 2020). Because of digitalization, businesses will become more careful to avoid making mistakes. In addition to this benefit, the decreased reliance on human resources brought about by digitization helps to bring down the overall cost of operations. It propels companies to reach the height of their success (Ballamudi et al., 2022). It has made the move from analog methods traditionally used to digital ones more easily. We will no longer see any large corporation or even a small-scale establishment holding data in the form of paperwork.
The process of transitioning from a traditional business to a digital one is called digitalization. Digitalization refers to using digital technology to alter a business model and give new chances to generate revenue and value. Transforming an organization's internal operations through digital technologies might open up new potential for generating income and value (Mandapuram et al., 2020). It entails converting analog information into digital formats and some operations that businesses can do more effectively with the assistance of modern technology and equipment. Netflix, which began as a DVD rental business, is a good illustration of digitalization because it has become prevalent and successful. Netflix created original value in the Internet streaming motion pictures by utilizing cutting-edge technology, capitalizing on data, and digitizing video (Thodupunori & Gutlapalli, 2018).
Adopting digital technologies is necessary for companies to maintain their relevance and success in today's cutthroat business environment. It makes it possible for businesses to adjust to rapidly shifting market conditions, live up to the expectations of their customers, and optimize their operations to achieve greater efficiency and production levels (Bodepudi et al., 2021). The process of making workflows and processes more straightforward and more effective through the utilization of digitized information is referred to as digitalization. Adopting a digital culture is necessary to maintain relevance and succeed in the modern, technologically-driven world (Mandapuram & Hosen, 2018).

SIGNIFICANCE OF DIGITALIZATION

The process of transforming information from its traditional form into a digital version (one that a computer can read) is called digitization (Mandapuram et al., 2018). Data is delivered in this format, representing either bits or bytes. Digitalizing corporate processes contributes to improvements in effectiveness, consistency, and quality. It can also:
  • Bring down the costs of operations
  • Eliminate the possibility of human error.
  • Make use of analytics as well as actual user information
  • Ensure the smooth continuation of the company's expansion• Convert traditional documents or files into a digital format, doing away with any unnecessary duplicates and reducing the length of the communications chain.
  • Make improvements to and work to facilitate a more productive informational exchange
  • Assist in the process of assisting customers in any part of the world
Innovative digital solutions offer a competitive advantage in the corporate world by helping to improve quality, reinvent profitable approaches, and encourage consistency. As a result, a significant number of businesses have embraced the digital transformation of their operations because it:
  • Cost savings
  • Increased productivity
  • No room for error due to human intervention
  • Safer data storage in the cloud
  • Reduced costs associated with operations
  • Capability to analyze data
The advent of digital marketing has proven to be a godsend for all kinds of enterprises (Gutlapalli et al., 2019). As a digital marketing agency, we can assist in promoting our products and services via the Internet by utilizing various marketing tools and approaches. No matter the size of our company or organization, the knowledgeable members of our professional team are aware of the significance of digitization, and they implement a strategy to improve profits and assist us in achieving success (Gutlapalli, 2017b). When it comes to Internet marketing, we use strategies that have received much positive feedback from customers. Let us talk some more about the ways in which the digitalization of business, specifically through the use of online marketing, helps to increase profits and sales.

SUCCESSFUL DIGITIZATION IMPLEMENTATION BEST PRACTICES

What steps need to be taken to put a plan for digitalization into action? It is important to remember that scanning a few documents is one of many steps needed in this process (Amin & Mandapuram, 2021). Our first priority is to develop a clear set of goals and a strategy that has been well-considered. What kinds of goals have we established for ourselves that we want to achieve with the help of digitalization? When we have an answer to this issue, we can move on to the next step, which is to investigate the most effective strategies to bring our company's business practices up to date. The following is a list of some examples of best practices that can assist our firm in digitally transforming its operations successfully:
Create a detailed strategy and action plan: We can more effectively develop our approach if we clearly understand the particular objectives we wish to accomplish through digitalization. In order to accomplish this, we will need to conduct a thorough analysis of our company and identify the aspects that are in need of enhancement (Dekkati & Thaduri, 2017). The most significant change for gap closure lies in the area of customer service, or perhaps the controls along our supply chain need to be improved. When developing a strategy for implementing digitalization tactics, having a clear idea of what areas to concentrate on is helpful.
Invest in the appropriate equipment and technologies: Whenever we select the appropriate digital tools for our company, make sure to put our money into those that solve the issues that arise in the daily operations of our company. If, for instance, we require a solution that assists us in tracking and managing last-mile deliveries in real-time, we should select an alternative that has received excellent ratings, positive reviews, and the trust of our colleagues in the same field. Similarly, it is essential to implement technology that our workforce is already familiar with or can swiftly adapt to (Dekkati & Thaduri, 2017). If we do not do that, the implementation process will be drawn out and tough for us to deal with. The transition can be made easier by holding frequent training sessions for staff. These sessions should focus on familiarizing workers with the functionality of the program.
Encourage a mindset that is open to new ideas and trying new things: Any effort to improve business processes using information technology (IT) must have, at its core, a mindset that is both open to experimentation and willing to try new things (Dekkati et al., 2022). Digitalization is a process that has its roots in invention. Inspire our staff to think outside the box regarding issue-solving and creatively utilize technology. We can only fully appreciate the possibilities of a digital transformation once we have established a culture of discovery within our business.
Processes should be continually evaluated and improved: The ability to access vast volumes of data, which can result in a competitive edge, is the most valuable asset that a digital firm can possess (Gutlapalli, 2016). Please use these statistics to help us determine areas we might improve. Getting a process up and running smoothly usually takes some time and some adjustments. In order to identify how to make the process better, it is necessary to investigate problems such as errors, bottlenecks, and failures.

DIGITIZATION ROLE

Because it offers a wide variety of advantages, digitalization is causing a profound shift in the available income pools to enterprises (Bodepudi et al., 2019). Some of the primary advantages that digitization brings to the expansion of businesses are outlined in the following paragraphs.
Reduced Human Error: Companies have many operational costs, and people tend to make mistakes. Human error can be reduced by using technology. Digital technology significantly lowers the likelihood of mistakes being made by humans (Desamsetti & Mandapuram, 2017). The workflow will become more streamlined and efficient due to the adoption of digitalization.
Accurate Analysis of Data: One of the benefits of digitalization is that it enables businesses to provide their owners with data that is accurate and pertinent to every stage engaged in the workflow (Desamsetti, 2016). As a result of the deployment of cloud computing, this data is saved in the cloud, where it is accessible at any time and from any location for the purpose of analysis. Following this data analysis, predictions were made regarding customers' behavior and the market's state.
Consumer Behavior: Because of the dramatic shift of consumers away from offline markets and toward online markets, particularly during the global pandemic of COVID-19, customers' buying behavior has undergone a full transformation. Consumers often research a product they are interested in purchasing on several different e-commerce websites before actually making a purchase (Gutlapalli, 2017a). This facility, which can be navigated efficiently, allows the consumer to examine the evaluations, compare the pricing, and investigate other aspects, such as the availability of things. Therefore, in order to satisfy the growing demand and expectations of customers, every company needs to shift its attention to the digitalization of their operations.
Presence on the Internet Increase the Geographical Area Covered by a Business: One of the most cost-effective ways to expand a company's geographic reach is to promote it across various social media platforms. This causes the company's customer base to grow swiftly. This results in an increase in the brand's value and improved standing for the company in the market. Customers can purchase goods and services from all over the world, ultimately increasing the company's overall revenue.

CONCLUSION

The digitalization of a variety of information enables the automation of previously manual and paper-based procedures, which is what we mean when we talk about digitization. Bringing an organization into the digital age gives it the advantage of completing tasks more quickly, effectively, and at a lower cost. Companies are beginning to understand the significance of digitalization in their operations. Communication and the presentation of our brand voice are essential components of a successful online business, both for getting and keeping a customer's attention. This may be accomplished by working with expert firms that provide exceptional photos, creative material, and components for our company to bring to life and establish a relationship of long-term loyalty with clients.
In conclusion, digitization is one step toward innovation, which will create brand-new and excellent chances for organizations. It is essential to begin shifting our mentality better to understand the new forces in today's organizations. We should get started knowing more about digitalization and how it can boost the growth of any organization in the most fantastic way possible. In addition, being digital is no longer a need of the hour; instead, it is becoming a necessity that cannot be avoided.
