Abstract

This study investigates the rapid growth of the e-commerce industry in Nepal while examining the associated security challenges. By analyzing factors driving e-commerce development, identifying prevalent threats, and evaluating existing security measures, this research aims to provide a comprehensive understanding of Nepal's e-commerce landscape. This research uses a combination of quantitative and qualitative data to better understand the complex relationship between e-commerce and security threats.E-commerce security is paramount for protecting online transactions. It ensures data integrity, prevents unauthorized access, and maintains confidentiality. While e-commerce offers opportunities for the banking industry, it also introduces security risks like hacking. Effective e-commerce security requires a coordinated approach, combining technical solutions with robust management practices. Key findings from this research are expected to inform the development of robust strategies to mitigate security threats and cultivate a secure e-commerce ecosystem in Nepal. By addressing the challenges and opportunities presented by e-commerce, Nepal can harness its potential for economic growth and development while ensuring a safe and secure online environment for consumers and businesses.
