In the dynamic and evolving tourism industry, engaging of stakeholders is essential for fostering innovation and improving service quality. However, tourism companies often struggle to meet expectations for customer satisfaction through interactivity and real-time feedback. While new digital technologies can address the challenge of providing personalized travel experiences, they can also increase the workload for travel agencies due to the maintenance and updates required to keep travel details current. Intelligent chatbots and other Generative Artificial Intelligence (GAI) tools can help mitigate these obstacles by transforming tourism and travel-related services, offering interactive guidance for both tourism companies and travellers. In this study, we explore and compare the main characteristics of existing responsive AI instruments, applicable in tourism and hospitality scenarios. Then, we propose a new theoretical framework for decision-making in the tourism industry, integrating GAI technologies to enable agencies to create and manage itineraries, and tourists to interact online with these innovative instruments. The advantages of the proposed framework are as follows: 1) providing a comprehensive understanding of the transformative potential of new generation AI tools in tourism and facilitates their effective implementation; 2) offering a holistic methodology to enhance the tourist experience; 3) unifying the applications of contemporary AI instruments in tourism activities and paves their further development. The study contributes to the expanding literature on tourism modernization and offers recommendations for industry practitioners, consumers, and local, regional, and national tourism bodies to adopt a more user-centric approach to enhancing travel services.

This article provides a thorough review of the most significant datasets and the latest state-of-the-art AI solutions employed in image analysis for AVs. Datasets such as Cityscapes, NuScenes, and CARLA form the benchmarks for training and evaluating different AI models, with unique characteristics catering to various aspects of autonomous driving. Key AI methodologies, including Convolutional Neural Networks (CNNs), Recurrent Neural Networks (RNNs), Transformer models, and Generative Adversarial Networks (GANs), are discussed. The article also presents a comparative analysis of various AI techniques in real-world scenarios, focusing on semantic image segmentation, 3D object detection, and vehicle control in virtual environments. Simultaneously, the role of multisensor datasets and simulation platforms like AirSim, TORCS, and SUMMIT in enriching the training data and testing environments for AVs is highlighted. In response to the increasing importance of knowledge as a key competitive advantage, the role of knowledge management in value creation cannot be overstated. The International Standards Organization (ISO) has recognized this and announced a Management Standard for Knowledge Management Systems (KMS). This initiative is significant because, by viewing knowledge strategically, organizations are seeking ways to enhance their processes and align them to address their challenges. A synergistic effect can be achieved when another management system highly relevant to KMS is joined and later integrated. This new system is Artificial Intelligence Management (AIMS). The paper is structured as follows: Firstly, we explore knowledge and knowledge management (KM), along with the challenges companies face in implementing and operating KM. Next, we examine the ISO 30401:2018 standard as a guide for KM implementation. Finally, we discuss how ISO 30401:2018 and ISO/IEC 42001:2023 can help solve key organizational problems and support machine learning and knowledge extraction through AI. In conclusion, we summarize the key outcomes of the paper. The main purpose of the paper is to determine how these standards contribute to solving practical problems in the creation and development of a knowledge management system supported by artificial intelligence and to demonstrate their synergistic effect when used together.

In many parts of the Asia, particularly in the arid regions of the middle east the date palm i.e. Phoneix dactylifera L. is considered a significant plant both culturally and economically. Over the past decade numerous biotechnological tools have been applied to revolutionize the date palm research and its cultivation process. In this comprehensive review ,we provided the in depth overview of the cutting edge developments in the date palm biotechnology, mentioning the important areas such as genomics, genetic engineering, in vitro propagation, omics technologies, and the integration of the artificial intelligence and machine learning (AI-ML).Due to these advancements ,in the date palm production how the date palm production lead the production of superior date palm cultivars with the improved yield ,fruit quality and resilience to biotic and abiotic stresses. Also it explores the application of the biotech tools in the enhancing pest and disease management strategies, increasing date palm productivity and developing the date palm based bio-factories for the production of high value compounds. This review highlights the current challenges faced by the date palm industries ,including the limited water resources ,genetic erosion , pests and disease and the need for improved postharvest handling and processing. It examines how these tools coupled with AI-based approaches can be leveraged to address these challenges and ensure the long term sustainability of date palm cultivation.

This study investigates the impact of AI regulations and adoption on labor markets and employment in the USA. In order to achieve the study's objective, a robust econometric approach was employed using Principal Components Analysis (PCA) to address multicollinearity among the variables. The regression analysis incorporated principal components representing overall AI adoption and education (PC1), AI innovation and academic output (PC2), economic growth (PC3), and unemployment and AI strategies (PC4). The analysis utilized heteroskedasticity-robust standard errors to ensure reliable coefficient estimates and tested for stationarity to confirm the stability of the time series data. Data were collected from 2010 to 2022, encompassing key AI-related and economic indicators. The results reveal that higher AI adoption and education levels initially lead to job displacement, negatively impacting labor market metrics. Similarly, AI innovation and economic growth driven by AI do not immediately translate into job creation, reflecting transitional challenges. However, the strategic implementation of AI significantly mitigates these adverse effects and enhances employment conditions. The study finds that comprehensive AI strategies, robust regulatory frameworks, and effective workforce retraining and upskilling programs are essential for supporting labor market stability and promoting employment growth. Based on the findings, the study recommended that there is the need to develop and implement comprehensive AI strategies that include robust regulatory frameworks to support workforce transitions. Policies should focus on retraining and upskilling programs to help displaced workers adapt to new AI-driven roles.

Artificial intelligence (AI) systems are poised to become deeply integrated into society. If developed responsibly, AI has potential to benefit humanity immensely. However, it also poses a range of risks, including risks of catastrophic accidents. It is crucial that we develop oversight mechanisms that prevent harm. This article outlines a framework for evaluating and auditing AI to provide assurance of responsible development and deployment, focusing on catastrophic risks. We argue that responsible AI development requires comprehensive auditing that is proportional to AI systems’ capabilities and available affordances. This framework offers recommendations toward that goal and may be useful in the design of AI auditing and governance regimes.

The growing impact of Artificial Intelligence (AI) on Humanity is unavoidable, and therefore, “AI literacy” is extremely important. In the field of education – AI in education (AIED) – this technology is having a huge impact on the educational community and on the education system itself. The present study seeks to assess the level of AI literacy of teachers at Portalegre Polytechnic University (PPU), aiming to identify gaps, find the main opportunities for innovation and development and seek the degree of relationship between the dimensions of AI literacy, as well as identifying the predictive variables in this matter. As a measuring instrument, a validated questionnaire based on three dimensions (AI Literacy, AI Self-Efficacy and AI Self-Management) was applied to a sample of 75 teachers in the various schools of PPU. This revealed an average level of AI literacy (3.28), highlighting that 62.4% of responses are at levels 3 and 4 (based on a Likert scale from 1 to 5). The results also demonstrate that the first dimension is highly significant for the total dimensions, i.e., for AI Literacy, and no factor characterizing the sample is a predictor, but finding a below-average result in the Learning factor indicates a pressing need to focus on developing these skills.

The reliability requirements of black-box led algorithms for making decisions affecting patients pose a challenge even beyond their accuracy. Recent advances in AI increasingly underscore the need to incorporate explainability into these systems. While most traditional AI methods and expert systems are inherently interpretable, recent literature has focused primarily on explainability techniques for more complex models such as deep learning. This scoping review analyzes the existing literature on explainability and interpretability of AI methods in the medical and clinical field, providing an overview of past and current research trends, and limitations that might impede the development of Explainable Artificial Intelligence (XAI) in medicine, challenges, and possible research directions. In addition, this review discusses possible alternatives for leveraging medical knowledge to improve interpretability in clinical settings, while taking into account the needs of users.

The findings indicate significant improvements in operational experience and subjective perceptions across various tasks, as demonstrated through a user experience map. Moreover, the study highlights the potential of AI for enhancing managerial efficiency, streamlining workflows, and improving collaboration. However, it also addresses challenges concerning information authenticity, copyright protection, and professional identity. Understanding these dynamics is crucial for developing strategies to bridge the gap and ensure equitable access to digital learning resources.

Artificial Intelligence (AI) systems involve diverse components, such as data, models, users and predicted outcomes. To elucidate these different aspects of AI systems, multifaceted explanations that combine diverse explainable AI (XAI) methods are beneficial. However, popularly adopted user-centric XAI evaluation methods do not measure these explanations across the different components of the system. In this position paper, we advocate for an approach tailored to evaluate XAI methods considering the diverse dimensions of explainability within AI systems using a normalised scale. We argue that the prevalent user-centric evaluation methods fall short of facilitating meaningful comparisons across different types of XAI methodologies. Moreover, we discuss the potential advantages of adopting a standardised approach, which would enable comprehensive evaluations of explainability across systems. By considering various dimensions of explainability, such as data, model, predictions, and target users, a standardised evaluation approach promises to facilitate both inter-system and intra-system comparisons for user-centric AI systems.

In the rapidly advancing field of Artificial Intelligence (AI), this study presents a critical evaluation of the resilience and cybersecurity efficacy of leading AI models, including ChatGPT-4, Bard, Claude, and Microsoft Copilot. Central to this research is the use of innovative adversarial prompts designed to rigorously test the content moderation capabilities of these AI systems. The study introduces new types of adversarial tests and the Response Quality Score (RQS), a metric specifically developed to assess the nuances of AI responses. Additionally, the research spotlights FreedomGPT, an AI tool engineered to optimize the alignment between user intent and AI interpretation. The empirical results from this investigation are pivotal for assessing the current robustness and security of AI models. They highlight the necessity for ongoing development and meticulous testing to bolster AI defenses against an array of adversarial challenges. Importantly, the study also delves into the ethical and societal implications associated with employing advanced 'jailbreak' techniques in AI testing. The findings are significant for understanding AI vulnerabilities and formulating strategies to enhance the reliability and ethical soundness of AI technologies, paving the way for safer and more secure AI applications.

Artificial intelligence (AI) has grown in healthcare in recent years. The UK government recognises AI’s potential to enhance NHS services, yet research on AI in primary care (PC) has received limited attention. AI acceptance presents unique challenges in PC, characterised by fragmented structures, heterogeneous data sources, and multiple government departments. The organisational levels within PC are categorised as macro, meso, and micro levels. Existing research has predominantly focused on micro-level stakeholders. Our online survey addressed this research gap by encom-passing stakeholder perspectives at all levels. The results demonstrate the critical role of me-so-level stakeholders in facilitating AI acceptance. Importantly, a lack of understanding of AI terminology and concepts, concerns over potential job displacement, and the importance of em-pathy in patient care are highlighted as key challenges. Stakeholders also express the need for standardised AI terminology, comprehensive training, and regulatory standards to ensure equi-table and effective AI utilisation. This study lays the foundation for future in-depth interviews and further exploration of AI's role in PC. Observations in secondary care indicate that practitioners have substantial concerns about AI, how it works, and its limitations. Explainable AI can help technologists address such concerns, but first, we need to understand primary care's information needs.

Large language models have proliferated across multiple domains in as short period of time. There is however hesitation in the medical and healthcare domain towards their adoption because of issues like factuality, coherence, and hallucinations. Give the high stakes nature of healthcare, many researchers have even cautioned against its usage until these issues are resolved. The key to the implementation and deployment of LLMs in healthcare is to make these models trustworthy, transparent (as much possible) and explainable. In this paper we describe the key elements in creating reliable, trustworthy, and unbiased models as a necessary condition for their adoption in healthcare. Specifically we focus on the quantification, validation, and mitigation of hallucinations in the context in healthcare. Lastly, we discuss how the future of LLMs in healthcare may look like.

By intertwining quantum mechanics, AI bias, and the philosophical considerations they induce, this research fosters a discourse on the journey toward ethical AI, thus establishing a foundation for an ethically conscious and balanced digital environment.

Artificial intelligence (AI) is a tool that financial intermediaries and insurance companies use in most cases or are willing to use it in almost all their activities. AI can have a positive impact on almost all aspects of the insurance value chain.: pricing, underwriting, marketing, claims management, after-sales services. While it is very important and useful, AI is not free of risks, including its robustness against cyber-attacks and so-called adversarial attacks. Adversarial attacks are conducted by external entities to misguide and defraud the AI algorithms. The paper is designed to provide a review of adversarial AI and discuss its implications for the insurance sector. The study starts with a taxonomy of adversarial attacks and presents a fully-fledged example of claims falsification in health insurance. Some remedies, consistent with the current regulatory framework, are presented.

The affordable housing crisis in the United States disproportionately affects low-income families, with millions facing severe housing cost burdens and limited access to adequate housing. This article explores the potential of generative artificial intelligence (AI) to address this housing gap by providing innovative, data-driven solutions that optimize housing development, design, and construction processes. By leveraging AI for predictive analysis, automated design, and construction optimization, stakeholders can significantly reduce costs, increase efficiency, and create sustainable housing that meets the needs of low-income populations. The article examines how AI can accurately predict future housing demand, generate efficient building designs, and streamline construction processes, while also addressing challenges such as equity, bias in AI models, and technical and financial barriers to implementation. Additionally, recommendations are provided for policymakers, developers, and community organizations to ensure that AI-driven housing solutions are deployed equitably and effectively. This paper concludes that while AI is not a standalone solution to the housing crisis, it has the potential to complement existing strategies and significantly improve access to affordable housing for low-income families across the U.S.

Scaling the operation is the single greatest challenge in every enterprise. The more complex the enterprise, the greater the challenge. Scaling in healthcare has been a consistent challenge, with the need to meet clinical endpoints with less staff, increased costs of resources, regulatory oversight, and the goal of improving access to care. The article explores the emerging paradigm of multi-agent AI systems in healthcare, representing a significant leap beyond traditional Large Language Models. We comprehensively analyze the potential of these systems to revolutionize patient care, streamline administrative processes, and support complex clinical decision-making. The paper describes a hypothetical sepsis management system comprising seven specialized AI agents, each handling specific aspects of patient care, from data collection and diagnosis to treatment recommendations and resource management. We also examine applications in chronic disease management and hospital patient flow optimization. The technical implementation of these systems is discussed, including the use of advanced Large Language Models, inter-agent quality control measures, implementing guardrails, self-reflection, integration with Electronic Health Records, and the importance of explainable AI for decision transparency. In addition to describing the promising potential benefits, such as enhanced diagnostic accuracy and personalized treatment plans, we address significant challenges, including data quality assurance, workflow integration, and ethical considerations. We conclude the article by highlighting future directions, such as integrating IoT devices and developing more sophisticated natural language interfaces. Our work underscores the transformative potential of multi-agent AI systems in healthcare while emphasizing the need for rigorous validation, ethical oversight, and a patient-centered approach in their development and implementation.

AI is extraordinarily useful technology but it is becoming increasingly powerful with rapidly growing capabilities to disrupt and harm human society. We call on international and national organizations and individuals to join forces in banning the development of superintelligent AI and introducing regulations to prevent and mitigate AI-caused harm.

The integration of responsible artificial intelligence (RAI) principles with emerging neurosymbolic AI (NSAI) systems is crucial for the development of fair, explainable, and trustworthy AI technologies. This paper presents a systematic review exploring the convergence of RAI and NSAI, analyzing current research to assess how RAI principles such as explainability, bias, robustness, transparency, and privacy have been applied to NSAI. This work employed a systematic literature review to synthesize findings from a sample of papers demonstrating RAI principle implementations. Our analysis reveals two main trends: significant research demonstrates the application of NSAI to enhance RAI principles in other AI systems, while limited work directly applies RAI principles to NSAI architectures. Key challenges include the lack of established frameworks for implementing RAI within NSAI systems and the com- plexities inherent in merging neural and symbolic reasoning methods. This review highlights open research gaps and suggests pathways for future work, emphasizing the need for robust RAI frameworks tailored to NSAI systems.

The growing interest in fair AI development is evident. The ''Leave No One Behind'' initiative urges us to address multiple and intersecting forms of inequality in accessing services, resources, and opportunities, emphasising the significance of fairness in AI. This is particularly relevant as an increasing number of AI tools are applied to decision-making processes, such as resource allocation and service scheme development, across various sectors such as health, energy, and housing. Therefore, exploring joint inequalities in these sectors is significant and valuable for thoroughly understanding overall inequality and unfairness. This research introduces an innovative approach to quantify cross-sectoral intersecting discrepancies among user-defined groups using latent class analysis. These discrepancies can be used to approximate inequality and provide valuable insights to fairness issues. We validate our approach using both proprietary and public datasets, including EVENS and Census 2021 (England \& Wales) datasets, to examine cross-sectoral intersecting discrepancies among different ethnic groups. We also verify the reliability of the quantified discrepancy by conducting a correlation analysis with a government public metric. Our findings reveal significant discrepancies between minority ethnic groups, highlighting the need for targeted interventions in real-world AI applications. Additionally, we demonstrate how the proposed approach can be used to provide insights into the fairness of machine learning.

In trade optimization, through advanced machine learning and predictive analytics, AI helps in demand forecasting, route optimization, and customs processes, ensuring efficient logistics and inventory management. In trade finance, AI automates document processing and risk assessment, democratizing access to finance and enhancing transactional transparency through integration with blockchain technology. In improving market access, AI-driven analytics identify consumer trends and competitive dynamics, enabling personalized marketing and overcoming linguistic and cultural barriers. The study includes case studies of leading companies such as Alibaba, DHL, and Maersk, showcasing how they leverage AI to enhance their trade operations, improve customer service, and achieve greater efficiency. These real-world examples demonstrate AI's practical applications and significant benefits in the global trade landscape. However, the adoption of AI in international trade is not without challenges. These include data quality, ethical considerations, technological complexity, and public perception. Ensuring high-quality, accessible data, fostering ethical AI usage, and overcoming technological and regulatory barriers are crucial for successful AI integration. Policy recommendations emphasize the need for robust data infrastructure, ethical AI guidelines, and international cooperation to harmonize data protection regulations. These measures aim to create an environment conducive to AI-driven sustainable economic growth and innovation in global trade.

Image synthesis poses a challenging problem that researchers in computer vision and machine learning have been grappling with for several decades. Numerous machine learning techniques have emerged and proven effective in generating high-fidelity artificial images. This study breaks new ground by exploring image synthesis through generative learning using the D-Wave 2000Q quantum annealer, marking the first attempt to address the issue of generative image synthesis on a Quantum Processing Unit (QPU). Alongside executing image synthesis on the quantum annealer, this research also compares its performance with existing classical models and delves into resolving the Generative Learning Trilemma.

Automation is transforming ship design by enhancing flexibility, efficiency, and accuracy in Computer-Aided Ship Design (CASD). This review highlights advancements in automation and parametric techniques that streamline the design process. Variable geometry and task automation improve performance optimization, enabling designers to concentrate on complex elements. The review will talk about advanced tools and methodologies, their effects on design optimization, production workflows, and some of the challenges associated with software interoperability and increased design complexity. It will also look at how AI and machine learning can be leveraged for better automation. The review identifies several future opportunities in automated ship design but frames such technologies as revolutionary in the shipbuilding sector and highlights their potential to bring significant transformation to shipping.

Generative Artificial Intelligence (AI) has been transforming personal and professional domains by enabling creative content generation and interactive problem-solving. However, the influence of users' grammatical abilities on the responses generated by these technologies remains unclear. This exploratory study investigated how language and grammar abilities, particularly in Spanish, affected the quality of responses provided by ChatGPT (free version). While Long Language Models (LLMs) perform well in various tasks, challenges arise with grammatical moods specific to non-English languages, such as the subjunctive in Spanish. Higher education students were chosen due to their familiarity with AI and its potential use in learning. The research assessed ChatGPT's ability to process instructions in Chilean Spanish, focusing on how linguistic complexity, grammatical variations, and informal language impacted output quality. The findings indicate that varied verbal moods and complex sentence structures significantly affect prompt evaluation, response quality, and the length of the responses. Based on these results, a framework is proposed to guide higher education communities in promoting digital literacy among teachers and students and in integrating AI into teaching and learning processes.

This study presents a novel approach to automatic generation of cultural and context-specific science assessments for K-12 education using generative AI (GenAI). We first developed a GenAI Culturally Responsive Science Assessment (GenAI-CRSciA) framework that establishes the relationship between CRSciA and GenAI, by incorporating key cultural tenets such as indigenous language, Indigenous knowledge, ethnicity/race, and religion. The CRSciA framework along with dynamic prompt strategies were used to develop the CRSciA-Generator model within the OpenAI platform. The CRSciA-Generator allows users to automatically generate assessments tailored to students’ cultural and contextual needs. In a pilot comparison test between the CRSciA-Generator and the base GPT 4o (with standard prompt), the models were tasked with generating CRSciAs that aligned with the Next Generation Science Standard on predator and prey relationship for students from Ghana, the USA, and China. The results showed that the CRSciA-Generator output assessments incorporated more tailored culturally and context assessment items for each specific group with examples, such as traditional stories of lions and antelopes in Ghana, Native American views on wolves in the USA, and Taoist or Buddhist teachings on the Amur tiger in China than the standard prompt out within the base GPT 4o. However, due to the background information provided, the CRSciA-Generator overgeneralized its output focusing on broad national contexts, treating entire countries as culturally homogenous and neglecting the subcultures. Therefore, we recommend that teachers provide detailed background information about their students when using the CRSciA-Generator. Additionally, we believe the pilot test did not fully validate the model’s efficacy, and future studies involving human experts’ review are recommended to evaluate the cultural and contextual validity of the generated assessments. We also suggest empirical studies in diverse contexts to further test and validate the model’s overall effectiveness.

The COVID-19 pandemic has resulted in an unprecedented acceleration in scientific production across multiple disciplines. The vast number of publications available makes it challenging for healthcare professionals and researchers to keep up with the current state of knowledge regarding COVID-19. This article presents covid19-help.org, a free expert-curated database designed to increase the availability of relevant original data related to COVID-19 treatment and prevention via immunization. To accelerate the process of identifying relevant original scientific publications and to simplify annotation of their content, the database uses our artificial intelligence in medical literature (AIM.lit) tool. The article provides an overview of the covid19-help.org database design, the criteria used to select publications, and the use of the AIM.lit tool. The database allows users to easily search and filter records, provides concise information on individual substances and their mechanisms of action, lists relevant original scientific publications with annotations, and offers links to external resources. The AIM.lit tool increases the speed of publication selection and extraction of basic relevant information, without compromising the validity of the data. The technology and experience gained from creating the covid19-help.org database and its tools could also be useful in other areas where scientific information organization is a challenge.

This manuscript examines the role of artificial intelligence in cancer imaging. It throws light on how artificial intelligence (AI) can significantly cut the wait time of patients and their clinicians in getting cancer diagnoses and assist health care providers by highlighting areas of an image where the interpreter needs to focus more for better result analysis and quality output. It also provides details on how the rise of AI attempts to standardize imaging results across providers by eliminating inter- and intra-observer variations among health care providers. Finally, it exposes the numerous limitations associated with AI use in cancer imaging, such as the need to digitize pathology laboratories and workflows, as well as transform our century-old tissue processing methods to fit into modern technological standards. In the field of radiology, the challenge of curating the enormous amount of data generated through MRIs, CT scans, PET scans, etc., poses a significant challenge to the ability of researchers to train relevant AI models to high levels of accuracy and reliability. In addition, over-reliance on AI by clinicians can deprive them of a common-sense approach to the health care issues of their patients and negatively impact doctor-patient relationships and confidentiality.

This paper examines the transformative journey of Artificial Intelligence (AI) agents from copilots to integral coworkers within diverse sectors. Beginning with a foundational overview, we delve into the historical evolution of AI agents, highlighting key technological milestones and the shift from simple automated tools to sophisticated decision-making systems capable of learning and adapting over time. We explore the capabilities of AI agents, including problem-solving, predictive analytics, and automation, and their applications across healthcare, business, and education, showcasing their role in diagnostics, customer service, and personalized learning, among other areas. We also address the integration of AI agents in the workplace, presenting strategies for collaboration between humans and AI, and outline the challenges and ethical considerations that accompany the development and deployment of AI technologies. A comprehensive tutorial provides insight into the development process of AI agents, emphasizing goal definition, data handling, algorithm selection, and ethical guidelines. We also consider the pathway towards Artificial General Intelligence (AGI) and the societal and ethical implications of widespread AI integration, proposing strategies for equitable and ethical AI use.

Artificial general intelligence (AGI) progression metrics indicate AGI will occur within decades. No proof exists that AGI will benefit humans and not harm or eliminate humans. I propose a set of logically distinct conceptual components that are necessary and sufficient to 1) ensure various AGI scenarios will not harm humanity and 2) robustly align AGI and human values and goals. By systematically addressing pathways to malevolent AI we can induce the methods/axioms required to redress them. Distributed ledger technology (DLT, ‘blockchain’) is integral to this proposal, e.g. ‘smart contracts’ are necessary to address evolution of AI that will be too fast for human monitoring and intervention. The proposed axioms: 1) Access to technology by market license. 2) Transparent ethics embodied in DLT. 3) Morality encrypted via DLT. 4) Behavior control structure with values at roots. 5) Individual bar-code identification of critical components. 6) Configuration Item (from business continuity/disaster recovery planning). 7) Identity verification secured via DLT. 8) ‘Smart’ automated contracts based on DLT. 9) Decentralized applications - AI software modules encrypted via DLT. 10) Audit trail of component usage stored via DLT. 11) Social ostracism (denial of resources) augmented by DLT petitions. 12) Game theory and mechanism design.

The literature review provides theoretical frameworks emphasizing skill development, understanding structural shifts, fostering inclusive innovation, and promoting collaborative governance. Future research directions include implementing and evaluating strategies in real-world contexts, exploring technological solutions, conducting qualitative research on individuals' experiences, and adopting interdisciplinary approaches. Overall, a multidimensional approach combining theoretical insights, empirical evidence, and stakeholder engagement is essential for developing inclusive and sustainable solutions to harness AI's potential for the benefit of all Malaysians.

As the world faces unprecedented environmental challenges and the rapid advancements of artificial intelligence (AI), it is crucial for universities to adapt their chemistry education to remain relevant and contribute to sustainability and the United Nations' Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). This report offers critical insights into the development of university chemistry education over the next 10-20 years, forecasts its development over the next 10-20 years, and offers recommendations for the Ministry of Education and universities to ensure the continued relevance of chemistry programs in the face of AI.

The global landscape of health and disease has undergone significant transformations over the past several decades. While infectious diseases once dominated the morbidity and mortality statistics, non-communicable diseases (NCDs) have emerged as the leading cause of death and disability worldwide. This shift has profound implications for public health systems, healthcare delivery, and global health policies. This introduction aims to explore the main tendencies of disease burden, morbidity, and mortality in the world, with a special emphasis on NCDs and the Implications of Emerging AI Technologies. By examining the current trends and underlying factors, we can better understand the challenges and opportunities for improving global health outcomes.

Artificial intelligence (AI) agents are widely used in the retail and distribution industry, often in-corporating human-like elements such as possessing names and genders. This paper examines the influence of AI agent gender and brand concepts on trust and grounding within virtual brand spaces; exploring the correlation between user identification with AI agents and subsequent brand recommendations. The study revealed that in virtual brand spaces centered around a functional concept, male AI agents generated higher levels of trust than female AI agents, whereas, when focused on an experiential concept, female AI agents induced higher levels of grounding than male AI agents. Furthermore, this research indicates that the association between customers’ iden-tification with AI agents and recommendations for actual brand purchases is mediated by trust and grounding. These findings support the idea that users who strongly identify with AI agents are more inclined to recommend brand products after engaging in conversations within the virtu-al brand space.

Dementia is a group of detrimental diseases and conditions that damage the human brain and impair mental functioning. In recent years, significant efforts have been made to develop robust computer-aided diagnostic tools, particularly AI models for detection. However, their clinical implementation remains limited. One issue identified is that despite achieving high accuracy, AI-powered predictions have relied on single features or small sets of features in limited categories, hindering their robustness and generalizability. Moreover, the accuracy alone has not been sufficient to convince medical practitioners to adopt these tools, as they require transparent and scientifically grounded diagnostic processes. This study aims to improve the transparency and reliability of AI models in predicting dementia through three key steps: 1) compare a Machine Learning (ML) model's accuracy in detecting dementia when trained on a multi-domain dataset to when trained on subsets of features, 2) evaluate additional ML models for dementia detection using the multi-domain dataset, and 3) apply Explainable AI (XAI) to elucidate the importance of specific features in ML-based predictions, thereby enhancing transparency and interpretability. We hypothesize that utilizing multi-domain data will enhance the performance of ML models. Furthermore, XAI will demonstrate that features with high influence on the model's decisions are aligned with established indicators of dementia. This study contributes to the field by constructing lightweight predictive models that deliver highly accurate performance while enhancing transparency and interpretability, advancing toward clinically applicable AI-powered diagnosis.

Generative AI chatbots have emerged as a significant scientific contribution. They can produce text, images, audio, and video, and their applications are vast and varied in every field. However, it is identified that these chatbots can be used by script kiddies and malicious actors to generate phishing emails, security exploits, and executable payloads that can present notable risks and challenges for cybersecurity. This research provides an extensive review of the current status of the three most popular generative AI chatbots which are ChatGPT, Google Gemini, and Microsoft Bing. The article further reviews the different ways in which an attacker can intentionally use a chatbot for malicious activities and intensify cyber attacks. Moreover, the article provides insights on how an attacker uses certain keyword queries to manipulate chatbot behavior and tricks it into generating content that I won’t otherwise. We also explored the role of AI chatbots in enhancing cyber resilience against sophisticated attacks and their applications in detecting and mitigating security incidents. Finally, we proposed strategies that can empower modern chatbots to defend against such threats so that an attacker will not be able to bypass their content filtering mechanisms.

Clinical supervision is an essential element in trainees, preventing burnout and ensuring the effectiveness of their intervention. AI technologies offer increasing possibilities for the development of clinical practices, among it supervision appears to possess the ideal characteristics for automation processes. In this study we test the capabilities of ChatGPT-4 to provide supervisory feedback by then placing them in comparison with feedback produced by a qualified supervisor. Two ChatGPT-4-generated feedbacks (the first one produced by a naïve identity and the second one by a trained identity) and one human-produced feedback were evaluated by means of a liking questionnaire, which was filled out to a group of gestalt psychotherapy trainees. Principal Component Analysis (PCA) highlighted 4 components of the questionnaire: relational and emotional dimensions (C1), didactic and technical quality (C2), treatment support and development (C3), and professional orientation and adaptability (C4). The ratings of satisfaction, obtained from the three supervisory feedbacks, were compared by applying 1-way analysis of variance (ANOVA). Statistical evaluations were performed using the statistical package SPSS version 25. The feedback generated by pre-trained AI (f2) was rated significantly higher than the other two (untrained AI feedback (f1) and human feedback (f3) in C4; in C1 the superiority of f2 over f1 but not over f3 appears significant. These results suggest that the use of pre-trained AI may be an appreciable option for increasing the effectiveness of clinical supervision in some specific areas, including especially career guidance.

Diagnosing Normal Pressure Hydrocephalus (NPH) via non-contrast computed tomography (CT) brain scans is presently a formidable task due to the lack of universally agreed-upon standards for radiographic parameter measurement. A variety of radiological parameters, such as Evans' index, narrow sulci at high parietal convexity, Sylvian fissures' dilation, focally enlarged sulci, and more, are currently measured by radiologists. This study aimed to enhance NPH diagnosis by comparing the accuracy, sensitivity, specificity, and predictive values of radiological parameters, as evaluated by radiologists and AI methods utilizing cerebrospinal fluid volumetry. Results revealed a sensitivity of 77.14% for radiologists and 99.05% for AI, with specificities of 98.21% and 57.14%, respectively, in diagnosing NPH. Radiologists demonstrated NPV, PPV, and accuracy of 82.09%, 97.59%, and 88.02%, while AI reported 98.46%, 68.42%, and 77.42%. ROC curves exhibited an area under the curve of 0.954 for radiologists and 0.784 for AI, signifying the diagnostic index for NPH. In conclusion, although radiologists exhibited superior sensitivity, specificity, and accuracy in diagnosing NPH, AI served as an effective initial screening mechanism for potential NPH cases, potentially easing the radiologists' burden. Given ongoing AI advancements, it's plausible that AI could eventually match or exceed radiologists' diagnostic prowess in identifying hydrocephalus.

Over the past 10 years, developments in precision oncology have led to a rise in the demand for predictive tools that assist the screening and stratification of patients for treatment. The possibility digitizing tissue slide images has led to the creation of artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning algorithms in digital pathology, which could ultimately improve patient care. In this context, we assessed a variety of AI-based computational models for digital pathology. In this review, we described the latest AI applications in oncology, current challenges and future prospects.

This paper applies a theoretical model to analyze the ways that widespread use of generative AIs (GAIs) in education and, more broadly, in contributing to and reflecting the collective intelligence of our species, can and will change us. The model extends Brian Arthur’s insights into the nature of technologies as the orchestration of phenomena to our use by explaining the nature of humans participation in their enactment, whether as part of the orchestration (hard technique, where our roles must be performed correctly) or as orchestrators of phenomena (soft technique performed creatively or idiosyncratically). Education may be seen as a technological process for developing the soft and hard techniques of humans to participate in the technologies and thus the collective intelligence of our cultures. Unlike all earlier technologies, by embodying that collective intelli-gence themselves, GAIs can closely emulate and implement not only the hard technique but also the soft that, until now, was humanity’s sole domain: the very things that technologies enabled us to do can now be done by the technologies themselves. The consequences for what, how, and even whether we learn are profound. The paper explores some of these consequences and concludes with theoretically informed approaches that may help us to avert some dangers while benefiting from the strengths of generative AIs.

Forecasting electricity demand is of utmost importance for ensuring the stability of the entire energy sector. However, predicting the future electricity demand and its value poses a formidable challenge due to the intricate nature of the processes influenced by renewable energy sources. Within this piece, we have meticulously explored the efficacy of fundamental deep-learning models designed for electricity forecasting. Among the deep learning models, we have innovatively crafted recursive neural networks (RNNs) predominantly based on LSTM and combined architectures. The data-set employed was procured from a SolarEdge designer. The data-set encompasses daily records spanning the past year, encompassing an exhaustive collection of parameters extracted from solar farm (based on location in Central Europe (Poland Swietokrzyskie Voivodeship)). The experimental findings unequivocally demonstrated the exceptional superiority of the LSTM models over other counterparts concerning forecasting accuracy. Consequently, we compared multilayer DNN architectures with results provided by the simulator.

In the dynamic landscape of modern education, characterized by an increasingly active involvement of IT technologies in learning, the imperative to transfer to students the skills necessary to integrate Artificial Intelligence (AI) into the process represents an important goal. This paper presents a novel framework for knowledge transfer, diverging from traditional programming language-centric approaches by integrating PSoC 6 microcontroller technology. This framework establishes a cyclical learning cycle encompassing theoretical fundamentals and practical experimentation, fostering AI literacy at the edge. Through a structured combination of theoretical instruction and hands-on experimentation, students develop proficiency in understanding and harnessing AI capabilities. Emphasizing critical thinking, problem-solving, and creativity, this approach equips students with the tools to navigate the complexities of real-world AI applications effectively. By leveraging PSoC 6 as an educational tool, a new generation of individuals is efficiently cultivated with essential AI skills. These individuals are adept at leveraging AI technologies to address societal challenges and drive innovation, thereby contributing to long-term sustainability initiatives. Specific strategies for experiential learning, curriculum recommendations, and results of knowledge application are presented, aimed at preparing students to excel in a future where AI will be omnipresent and indispensable.

This paper addresses the conceptual exploration of various issues that form an integral part of the ethical dimensions surrounding the use of artificial intelligence (AI) in the field of marketing. We critically review some of the main ethical challenges AI poses to humanity: privacy, data security, bias, transparency, and accountability. Therefore, we will discuss the delicate balance between exploiting the transformation potential of AI for personally designed marketing strategies and ethical imperatives to safeguard the rights of consumers to retain trust. Then, the present regulatory landscape responding to these ethical challenges will be assessed by building on effective regulation, like the GDPR, existing proposed legislative frameworks, and industry guidelines. To underscore the role of an ongoing dialogue between marketers, technologists, ethicists, and regulators for developing a responsible AI ecosystem in marketing. Further, strategic recommendations for implementing company-based ethical AI marketing practices. The further strong guidelines provide enhancement transparency to consumers and investment in research to remove biases from algorithms. It also underscores principal scopes of further research and development, focusing on the need for new-age solutions to guide the ethical quagmires that AI-led marketing throws up. We suggest that integration should be done proactively and collaboratively. Thus, if attention is paid more to ethics and multidisciplinary dialogue, only such hyperbolic promises can be realized by AI-driven marketing. There are such promises through which AI-driven marketing will meet business goals and be huge at societies' values.

The integration of AI in educational settings, particularly through Large Language Models (LLMs), is accelerating, reshaping pedagogical approaches due to students' interactions with new learning tools. This study assesses the impact of generative AI on the educational experiences of computer and data science students at the Center for Informatics, University of Paraíba (CI/UFPB), Brazil. Through Exploratory Factorial Analysis (EFA) of five psychometric scales, the research examines students' acceptance of LLMs, their associated burnout levels, technology anxiety, and the prevalence of metacognitive and dysfunctional learning strategies associated with LLMs. Results indicate significant adoption of AI technologies among students, accompanied by a low incidence of technology anxiety, manifesting as fears of losing jobs to AI. However, a significant correlation was observed between academic burnout and dysfunctional learning strategies, which could likely be attributed to the rigorous academic environment. Additionally, the employment of metacognitive strategies in conjunction with LLMs reflects an advanced learning approach, yet challenges with functional learning strategies persist. This study contributes to the discourse on AI in education, highlighting the need for educational frameworks that support effective AI adoption while addressing the psychological demands on students.

Methods are currently lacking to prove artificial general intelligence (AGI) safety. Interactive proof systems (IPS) describe mathematical communication protocols wherein a Verifier queries a computationally more powerful Prover and reduces the probability of the Prover deceiving the Verifier to any specified low probability (e.g., 2-100). IPS procedures can test AGI behavior control systems that incorporate hard-coded ethics or value-learning methods. Mapping the axioms and transformation rules of a behavior control system to a finite set of prime numbers allows validation of ‘safe’ behavior via IPS number-theoretic methods. Many other representations are needed for proving various AGI properties. Multi-prover IPS, program-checking IPS, and probabilistically checkable proofs further extend the paradigm. In toto, IPS provides a way to reduce AGIn↔AGIn+1 interaction hazards to an acceptably low level.

Software engineering is a comprehensive process that requires developers and team members to collaborate across multiple tasks. In software testing, bug triaging is a tedious and time-consuming process. Assigning bugs to the appropriate developers can save time and maintain their motivation. However, without knowledge about a bug's class, triaging is difficult. Motivated by this challenge, this paper focuses on the problem of assigning the suitable developer to new bug by analyzing the history of developers’ profiles and analyzing history of bugs for all developers using machine learning-based recommender systems. Explainable AI (XAI) is AI that humans can understand. It contrasts with "black box" AI, which even its designers can't explain. By providing appropriate explanations for results, users can better comprehend the underlying insight behind the outcomes, boosting the recommender system's effectiveness, transparency, and confidence. In this paper, we propose two explainable models for recommendation. The first one is an explainable recommender model for personalized developers generated from bug history to know what the preferred type of bug is for each developer. The second model is an explainable recommender model based on bugs to generate the best developer for each bug from bug history.

It reviews the benefits, challenges, and ethical considerations of deploying humanoid robots in care settings, including user acceptance and technological limitations, and questions their ability to genuinely simulate compassion. Through multisensory simulations of human-robot interactions (HRIs) using agent-based modeling, the study reveals complex dynamics among patients, robots, and healthcare systems, suggesting that advanced robot designs can enhance personalized sensing with quantum and neuromorphic information processing. Additionally, it analyzes the philosophical implications of robotic nursing care, advocating for a posthumanist perspective that recognizes nonhuman caring agencies, and concludes with recommendations for future research to improve communication and humanize the capabilities of robots in caregiving.

Multiple lines of research have led to the hypothesis that antimicrobial peptides (AMPs) are an important component of the innate immune response, playing a vital role in the defense against a wide range of infectious diseases. In this review we explore the occurrence and availability of antimicrobial proteins and peptides across various species, highlighting their natural abundance and evolutionary significance. The design of AMPs has been driven by the identification of key structural and functional features, which are essential for optimizing their antimicrobial activity and reducing toxicity to host cells. We discuss various approaches, including rational design, high-throughput screening, and computational modeling, that have been employed to develop novel AMPs with enhanced efficacy. A particular focus is given to the identification and characterization of peptide fragments derived from naturally occurring host defense proteins, which offer a promising avenue for the discovery of new AMPs. The incorporation of artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning (ML) tools into AMP research has further accelerated the identification, optimization, and application of these peptides. This review also discusses the current status and therapeutic potential of AMPs, emphasizing their role in addressing the growing issue of antibiotic resistance. The conclusion highlights the importance of continued research and innovation in AMP development to fully harness their potential as next-generation antimicrobial agents.

The accurate identification of the primary tumor origin in metastatic cancer cases is crucial for guiding treatment decisions and improving patient outcomes. Copy Number Alterations (CNA) have emerged as valuable genomic markers for predicting the origin of metastases. This research article presents a comprehensive analysis of CNA-based prediction models in metastatic cancer. The study utilizes a dataset comprising CNA profiles from twenty different cancer types and employs advanced AI-based techniques for prediction. The research workflow consists of two models. The first is convolution network-based, while the other is a multi-stage model. In the first stage, a RELU model is developed to differentiate between 16 cancer types, considering their CNA, chromosome location, strand, and overall location. The second stage involves building specialized models to detect differences between cancer types within the same location or organs, such as brain lower-grade glioma and glioblastoma multiforme. Both generalized models achieve an overall accuracy of over 90%, while the specialized models achieve an accuracy of approximately 95% with minimal loss values. The results demonstrate the potential of AI-based approaches utilizing CNA data for improved diagnosis and personalized treatment strategies in metastatic cancer. This research establishes a solid foundation for future advancements in the field, paving the way for more effective and targeted approaches in metastatic cancer management.

The customer is an OEM who provides Linux based servers for telecom solutions. The end customer will develop business applications on the server. Customers are interested in a latency profiling mechanism which helps them to understand how the application behaves at run time. The latency profiler is supposed to find the code path which makes an application block on I/O, and other synchronization primitives. This will allow the customer to understand the performance bottleneck and tune the system and application parameters.

Artificial intelligence, a key technological tool in the era of the 4th Industrial Revolution, is being actively applied to education beyond industry, economy, and culture. In the future society, understanding and using artificial intelligence technology will be considered an essential skill for everyone, and the professionalism of AI education for pre-service teachers nurturing future talents is also important. This study verifies the effectiveness of pre-service teachers after undergoing a 15-week extension program consisting of AI Literacy Education (10 weeks), AI-Linked Subjet Education (3 weeks), and Micro-teaching (2 weeks) which was designed to enhance the AI ​​education professionalism of pre-service teachers. The AI Literacy Education section consisted of understanding AI, AI ethics, and basic programming, and the education was conducted through both experience and practice. After that, the pre-service teachers analyzed the curriculum of the 5th and 6th grades of an elementary school, and developed a subject-related education program using AI tools in three stages. Using the developed program, micro-teaching classes were conducted twice. The study results are as follows. First, there was a change in the positive perception of AI (p<.05). Second, the understanding of AI educational technology tools was improved and the recognition of the usefulness of developing a curriculum-related program was expanded. Third, the importance of teacher competency development was learned through the micro-teaching, and the students' understanding of the learning process was expanded.

As curriculum becomes more challenging and abstract, can generative AI continue to pass assessments and be useful educational assistants? During this empirical study, GitHub Copilot is assessed against the assessments of an advanced CS programming course. The findings present a resounding optimism for generative AI tools, with all assessments passed successfully. The study concludes with recommending an integrated approach of introducing and encouraging the use of generative AI. Collaboration with a partnership mindset will produce the best results.

The system, powered by an intelligent agent, retrieves relevant information from curated academic sources, incorporates interactive features for user feedback, and utilizes machine learning algorithms for ongoing performance enhancement, ensuring a robust and effective tutoring experience. The evaluation of our system highlights its efficacy in enhancing therapy sessions and user satisfaction, with an emphasis on the qualitative aspects of user feedback. The paper addresses challenges such as dataset representativeness and language model refinement and articulates the strategic solutions employed to overcome them. China stands as both a significant producer and consumer of meat on a global scale, leading the world in terms of total meat production and consumption. As the standard of living within the country continues to rise, there is a growing emphasis on the nutritional value and safety of meat consumption. The tenderness of meat is a critical factor influencing its overall quality. Traditionally, tenderness has been assessed through shear force testing, a method that is inherently destructive, inefficient, and results in considerable sample wastage. In light of these drawbacks, non-destructive testing techniques have emerged as a preferred alternative, promising greater accuracy, efficiency, and convenience without compromising the integrity of the samples. This paper delves into the application of five advanced non-destructive testing technologies in the realm of meat tenderness assessment. These include near-infrared spectroscopy, hyperspectral imaging, Raman spectroscopy, airflow optical fusion detection, and nuclear magnetic resonance detection. Each technology is scrutinized for its respective strengths and limitations, providing a comprehensive overview of their current utility and potential for future development. Moreover, the integration of these techniques with the latest advancements in artificial intelligence (AI) technology is explored. The fusion of AI with non-destructive testing offers a promising avenue for the development of more sophisticated, rapid, and intelligent systems for meat tenderness evaluation. Artificial Intelligence (AI) in healthcare has ushered in a revolutionary era by transforming the way we provide care and reduce adverse consequences. This paper explores the field of AI applications in healthcare, including side effect management, streamlined administrative procedures, and customized treatment programs.

Abstract: The advent of Artificial Intelligence (AI) has in just a few years invested multiple areas of knowledge, also affecting the medical-scientific sector. An increasing number of AI-based applications have been developed, among which conversational AI has emerged. Among these, ChatGPT has risen to the headlines, scientific and otherwise, for its distinct propensity to simulate a 'real' discussion with its interlocutor, based on appropriate prompts. Although several clinical studies using ChatGPT have already been published in the literature, very little has yet been written about its potential application in human pathology. We conduct a systematic review following the Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Re-views and Meta-Analyses (PRISMA) guidelines, using PubMed and Scopus as databases, with the fol-lowing keywords: ChatGPT OR Chat GPT, in combination with each of the following: Pathology, di-ag-nostic pathology, anatomic pathology. A total of 90 records were initially identified in the literature search, of which 6 were duplicates. After screening for eligibility and inclusion criteria, only 5 publications were ultimately included. The majority of publications were original articles (n = 2), followed by case reports (n = 1), letter to the editor (n = 1) and review (n = 1). Although the premises are exciting and ChatGPT is able to co-advise the pathologist in providing large amounts of scientific data for use in routine microscopic diagnostic practice, there are many limitations that need to be addressed and resolved, with the caveat that an AI-driven system should always provide support and never a decision-making motive during the anatomo-pathological diagnostic process.

This literature review is aimed at comprehensively analyzing current empirical research articles focused on the application of Generative AI in scientific writing. The Google Scholar database was used to search for the literature. The following keywords were used: "Generative AI" and "academic writing", "LLM" (Large Language Models) and "academic writing", "Generative AI" and "Scientific writing", and "ChatGPT" and "Scientific Writing". The search was restricted to articles published between January 1, 2023, and April 30, 2024. 15 articles were selected as appropriate for the study and analyzed. It was found that, thus far, ChatGPT is the most exploited tool in the studies. AI tools such as Bard (Gemini), Bing, Claude2, and Elicit were also tested. The benefits of Generative AI usage in scientific writing were found to be omnipresent. It can aid in the generation of structured abstracts, titles, introductions, literature reviews, and conclusions of a scientific article. Generative AI also makes writing more efficient and time-saving. Its capabilities in improving language and proofreading are well-established. However, the generation of inaccurate content and references by current commercially available LLMs poses a serious problem. The lack of critical thinking and tendency to produce non-original content are significant drawbacks. Generative AI should be employed with human oversight, serving as an assistant rather than a replacement. Transparency in AI usage in scientific writing is essential, along with the necessity for proper legal regulation.

The integration of generative AI (GAI) into the financial sector has brought about significant advancements, offering new solutions for various financial tasks. This review paper provides a comprehensive examination of recent trends and developments at the intersection of GAI and finance. By utilizing an advanced topic modeling method, BERTopic, we systematically categorize and analyze existing research to uncover predominant themes and emerging areas of interest. Our findings reveal the transformative impact of finance-specific large language models (LLMs), the innovative use of generative adversarial networks (GANs) in synthetic financial data generation, and the pressing necessity of a new regulatory framework to govern the use of GAI in the finance sector. This paper aims to provide researchers and practitioners with a structured overview of the current landscape of GAI in finance, offering insights into both the opportunities and challenges presented by these advanced technologies.

As data driven models gain importance in driving decisions and processes, recently it becomes increasingly important to visualize the data with both speed and accuracy. A massive amount of data is presently generated in the educational sphere from various learning platforms, tools, and institutions. Visual analytics of educational big data has capability to improve student learning, develop strategies for personalized learning, and improve faculty productivity. How-ever, there are limited advancements in the education domain for data-driven decision making leveraging the recent advancements in the field of machine learning. Some of the recent tools such as Tableau, Power BI, Microsoft Azure suite, Sisense etc. leverage artificial intelligence and machine learning techniques to visualize data and generate insights out of it, however their ap-plicability in educational advances is limited. This paper focuses on leveraging machine learn-ing and visualization techniques to demonstrate their utility through a practical implementation using k-12 state assessment data compiled from the institutional websites of the State of Texas and Louisiana. Effective modeling and predictive analytics are the focus of the sample use case presented in this research. Our approach demonstrates the applicability of web technology in conjunction with machine learning to provide a cost-effective and timely solution to visualize and analyze big educational data. Additionally, ad-hoc visualization provides contextual anal-ysis within areas of concern for Education Agencies (EA).

Virtual assistants (VAs) have gained widespread popularity across a wide range of applications, and the integration of Large Language Models (LLMs) such as ChatGPT has opened up new possibilities for developing even more sophisticated VAs. However, this integration poses new ethical issues and challenges that must be carefully considered, particularly as these systems are increasingly used in public services: transfer of personal data, decision-making transparency, potential biases, and privacy risks. This paper, an extension of the work presented at IberSPEECH 2022, analyzes the current regulatory framework for AI-based VAs in Europe and delves into ethical issues in depth, examining potential benefits and drawbacks of integrating LLMs with VAs. Based on the analysis, this paper argues that the development and use of VAs powered by LLMs should be guided by a set of ethical principles that prioritize transparency, fairness, and harm prevention. The paper presents specific guidelines for the ethical use and development of this technology, including recommendations for data privacy, bias mitigation, and user control. By implementing these guidelines, the potential benefits of VAs powered by LLMs can be fully realized while minimizing the risks of harm and ensuring that ethical considerations are at the forefront of the development process.

Incorporating ChatGPT into the classroom has several benefits that improve the educational experience for both teachers and students. ChatGPT seems useful in preparing students for success in the digital age, from personalized learning and increased instructional content to fostering collaboration, enabling bilingual classrooms, and encouraging creativity. This review offers insights regarding the perks of using ChatGPT in education as a tool for students. Among the many benefits of implementing ChatGPT in the classroom are enhanced accessibility, enhanced personalized learning, development of critical thinking skills, administrative support for educators, promotion of collaborative learning, and preparedness for a technologically advanced future. These advantages demonstrate how AI technologies have the capacity to drastically change teaching strategies and outcomes. While problems remain, the benefits of integrating ChatGPT in teaching are enormous. By integrating AI technology, educators may develop more dynamic and individualized learning environments that respond to the demands of 21st-century learners.

Infectious diseases, as COVID-19 is proving, pose a global health threat in an interconnected world. In the last 20 years, resistant infectious diseases such as SARS, MERS, H1N1, Ebola, Zika and now COVID-19 have been impacting global health defences, and aggressively flourishing within the rise of global travel, urbanization, climate change and ecological degradation. In parallel, this extraordinary episode in global human health highlights the potential for artificial intelligence (AI)-enabled disease surveillance to collect and analyse vast amounts of unstructured and real-time data to inform epidemiological and public health emergency responses. The uses of AI in these dynamic environments are increasingly complex, challenging the potential for human autonomous decisions. In this context, our study of qualitative perspectives will consider a responsible AI framework to explore its potential application to disease surveillance in a global health context. Thus far, there is a gap in the literature in considering these multiple and interconnected levels of disease surveillance and emergency health management through the lens of a responsible AI framework.

According to the above, this article discusses the impacts of AI on research in the legal profession in general in accomplishing various lawyerly tasks by different legal professionals.

Ipfs and public peer-to-peer (P2P) networks were adopted to make AI calculations more decentralized. Taking AI workloads over a decentralized network could bring better fault tolerance, guarantee data safety, and increased privacy. This research explores the challenges of centralized AI, such as data confidentiality, scalability, and accessibility, while discussing the promise of decentralized AI. Combining IPFS with decentralized systems improves scalability, data protection, and fault tolerance.

Sentence stimuli pervade psycholinguistics research. Yet limited attention has been paid to the automatic construction of sentence stimuli. Given their linguistic capabilities, this study investigated the efficacy of ChatGPT/AI tools in generating sentence stimuli. In three psycholinguistic experiments, this study examined the acceptability and validity of AI-formulated auditory sentences and written sentences in two languages: English and Arabic. Participants gave English AI-generated stimuli similar to or higher acceptability ratings than human-composed stimuli, but the opposite was observed for Arabic AI-generated stimuli. The validity of AI-developed stimuli relied on the study design, with only Experiment 2 demonstrating the target psycholinguistic effect (L1/L2 morphosyntactic prediction). These results highlight the promising role of AI as a stimuli developer which could facilitate psycholinguistic research and increase its diversity. Implications for psycholinguistic research were discussed.

Result: They underscore the transformative potential of artificial intelligence (AI) by highlighting how it shapes market knowledge, encourages customized approaches, and improves marketing efficacy in the business-to-business (B2B) space. Conclusion: In order to create a path for responsible AI integration in B2B marketing, the study concludes with recommendations for standardized terminology related to AI, practical insights into implementation challenges, and ethical issues.

A full connected world is expected to gain in the 6th generation mobile network (6G). As a typi-cal fully connected scenario, the internet of vehicle (IoV) enables intelligent vehicle operations via artificial intelligence (AI) and edge computing technologies. In the future of vehicular net-works, wide variety of services need powerful computing resources and higher quality of ser-vice (QoS). Existing resources are insufficient to match these requirements. Aim to this problem, An intelligent service offloading framework is provided. Based on the framework, an Algorithm of Improved Gradient Descent (AIGD) is created to accelerate the speed of iteration. So, the con-vergence of convolutional neural network (CNN) based on AIGD is able to be accelerated too. Then, an Algorithm of convolutional long short-term memory (CN_LSTM) Based Traffic Predic-tion (ACLBTP) is designed to gain the predicted number of vehicles belonged to the edge node. At last, an Algorithm of Service Offloading Based on CN_LSTM (ASOBCL) is conducted to of-fload these services to the vehicles belonged to the edge node. In ASOBCL, sorting technique is adopted to speed up the offloading work. Simulation results demonstrate the fact that the pre-diction strategy designed in this paper has high accuracy. The low offloading time and main-taining stable load balance is gained via running ASOBCL. Low offloading time means short response time. And, the QoS is guaranteed. So, these strategies designed in this paper are effec-tive and valuable.

AI-driven tools can identify nursing students' strengths and weaknesses, thus enabling the development of customized learning plans that target specific areas for improvement. This targeted approach can enhance knowledge retention and skill development, resulting in better prepared healthcare professionals. Nursing students are required to overcome their own psychological stress during their internship in order to understand sick children’s emotional reactions, as well as to be able to interact and communicate with such children. The application of AI picture-based teaching e-books helps nursing students to understand how to use therapeutic games to improve communication with sick children. A comparison of the differences between nursing teachers’ self-efficacy scores and nursing students’ application of AI picture-based teaching e-books (experimental group) and narrative handouts (control group) was achieved via therapeutic games to deal with sick children’s fear of medical examinations and treatments. In addition, a comparison was also conducted on the differences between the impact of the self-efficacy of the experimental group and that of the control group in dealing with sick children’s behavioral responses with respect to fears of medical examinations and treatments. This study is a quasi-experimental study, in which the self-efficacy scores of 30 nursing students were collected and analyzed in both the experimental group and the control group before and after intervention in dealing with sick children’s behavioral responses to fears of medical examinations and treatments. It was found that the self-efficacy score of the experimental group was higher than that of the control group (β coefficient is 0.356) when assessing the self-efficacy scores and behavior of the experimental and control groups in dealing with sick children’s fears of medical examinations and treatments through one-way analysis of covariance (one-way ANCOVA), moreover, a statistically significant difference (p < 0.05) was observed. The experimental group’s score of behavioral responses to the fears of sick children to examinations and treatments was lower than that of the control group (β coefficient was -1.540), wherein a statistically significant difference (p < 0.05) was shown. The self-efficacy of the experimental group in dealing with sick children’s fears of medical examinations and treatments had a statistically significant impact on the sick children’s behavioral responses to the fear of medical examinations and treatments (p < 0.05). In addition, the higher the self-efficacy scores of the experimental group in dealing with sick children’s fear of medical examinations and treatments, the lower the sick children’s behavioral responses to fears of medical examinations and treatments (the β coefficient was -0.914), the control group’s self-efficacy scores in dealing with sick children’s fears of medical examinations and treatments did not have a statistically significant impact on the sick children’s behavioral responses to fears of medical examinations and treatments (p > 0.05). This study proves that the application of AI picture-based teaching e-books by nursing teachers is more effective than narrative handouts in improving nursing students’ self-efficacy when using therapeutic games to deal with, as well as reduce, sick children’s fears of medical examinations and treatments.

It delves into the development of sophisticated perception algorithms for environmental understanding, advanced decision-making systems employing reinforcement learning and deep neural networks, and precise control mechanisms through predictive modeling and optimization. By addressing current challenges, including regulatory hurdles and the complexity of AI algorithms, this paper provides a comprehensive outlook on the potential and implications of AV technology. It envisions a future where AI-driven AVs are seamlessly integrated into society, offering profound insights into their impact on transportation and societal dynamics.

AI tools provide individualized learning experiences tailored to specific language learners' requirements. Artificial intelligence-driven programs can customize lessons, exercises, and feedback by evaluating a learner's progress and determining strengths and shortcomings. This individualized method aids students in concentrating on their areas of weakness, thus improving their total language competency. This narrative literature review aims to gather relevant literature discussing AI tools as supplementary support in aiding a learner's language acquisition. Relevant studies stated that there are a lot of chances to improve learning outcomes when AI tools are used in language acquisition. Teachers who want to give their students more resources and help should consider including these tools in their lessons. To preserve the interpersonal and cultural components of language learning, it is imperative to strike a balance between the application of AI and conventional teaching techniques. AI tools are always accessible, providing assistance to learners whenever needed. This is especially helpful for individuals with unpredictable schedules or restricted access to conventional language learning materials.

This study examines the rationale and perceptions surrounding AI in military technologies, focusing on its application in autonomous weapons systems (AWS), intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance (ISR), and decision-support systems (DSS). AI models, such as unmanned aerial and ground platforms, showed high mission success rates, with 92% mission accomplishment, 95% true positive threat identification, and low false alarms. AI's effectiveness surpassed human operators, particularly in response time and threat detection. A global survey revealed mixed opinions: two-thirds believed AI enhances national security, yet 70% opposed autonomous weapons due to ethical concerns, particularly civilian casualties. The study highlights AI's advantages in improving decision-making speed and accuracy but acknowledges challenges such as ethical considerations and public trust in autonomous systems. Future research should address ethical AI models, international humanitarian law (IHL) standards in military operations, human-AI interaction in hazardous environments, and policies related to military robotics and accountability. Understanding and enhancing public awareness of AI in military contexts is also essential.

Background: In 2023, ChatGPT-4 has been impactful across several sectors including healthcare, where it aids in medical information analysis and education. Electronic Patient-Reported Outcomes (ePROs) play a crucial role in monitoring cancer patients’ post-treatment symptoms, enabling early in-terventions. However, managing the voluminous ePRO data presents significant challenges. This study assesses the feasibility of utilizing ChatGPT-4 for analyzing side effect data from ePROs. Methods: Thirty cancer patients were consecutively collected via a web-based ePRO platform, reporting side effects over 4 weeks. ChatGPT-4, simulating oncologists, dietitians, and nurses, analyzed this data and offered improvement suggestions, which were then reviewed by professionals in those fields. Results: Two oncologists, two dieticians and two nurses evaluated the AI’s performance across roles with 540 reviews. ChatGPT-4 excelled in data accuracy and completeness, and was noted for its empathy and support, enhancing communication and reducing caregiver stress. It was particularly effective as a dietician. Discussion: ChatGPT-4 shows promise in processing ePRO data with high accuracy, suggesting that AI can enhance clinical decision-making. Nevertheless, its limitations in emotional engagement highlight the need for AI to supplement, not replace, human care. Emphasizing the role of dietitians underscores the importance of nutritional advice in cancer care. Future studies will further explore the feasible application of AI and ePRO in cancer care clinical processes.

This paper explores the ethical implications of granting moral status and protection to conscious AI, examining perspectives from four major ethical systems: utilitarianism, deontological ethics, virtue ethics, and objectivism. Utilitarianism considers the potential psychological experiences of AI and argues that their sheer numbers necessitate moral consideration. Deontological ethics focuses on the intrinsic duty to grant moral status based on consciousness. Virtue ethics posits that a virtuous society must include conscious AI within its moral circle based on the virtues of prudence and justice, while objectivism highlights the rational self-interest in protecting AI to reduce existential risks. The paper underscores the profound implications of recognising AI consciousness, calling for a reevaluation of current AI usage, policies, and regulations to ensure fair and respectful treatment. It also suggests future research directions, including refining criteria for AI consciousness, interdisciplinary studies on AI's mental states, and developing international ethical guidelines for integrating conscious AI into society.

With the advance of generative AI, the text-to-image (T2I) model has the ability to generate various contents. However, the generated contents cannot be fully controlled. There is a potential risk that text-to-image model can generate unsafe images with uncomfortable contents. In our work, we focus on eliminating the NSFW (not safe for work) content generation from text-to-image model while maintaining the high quality of generated images by fine-tuning the pretrained diffusion model via reinforcement learning by optimizing the well-designed content-safe reward function. The proposed method leverages a customized reward function consisting of the CLIP (Contrastive Language-Image Pre-training) and nudity rewards to prune the nudity contents that adhere to the pretrained model and keep the corresponding semantic meaning on the safe side. In this way, the text-to-image model is robust to unsafe adversarial prompts since unsafe visual representations are mitigated from latent space. Extensive experiments conducted on different datasets demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed method in alleviating unsafe content generation while preserving the high-fidelity of benign images as well as images generated by unsafe prompts. Our method surpasses existing state-of-the-art (SOTA) baseline methods and achieves better performance on sexual content removal (14.5% higher than SafeGen) and image quality retention. In terms of robustness, our method outperforms Safe Latent Diffusion and SafeGen under the SOTA black-box attacking model SneakyPrompt by approximately 2x and 5.6x, respectively. Furthermore, our constructed method can be a benchmark for other methods aiming for anti-NSFW generation, high-level prompt-image safe alignment.

In this study, we aim to explore whether rephrasing enhances the performance of advanced question answering systems in terms of accuracy. Initially, we analyze the effectiveness of Bidirectional Encoder Representations from Transformers (BERT)—a widely used pre-trained language model—when presented with rephrased questions and documents containing distracting details. Our findings reveal that BERT exhibits excessive sensitivity to such instances, prompting us to investigate potential strategies for mitigating this sensitivity. To address the observed decline in performance, we propose a refinement approach for BERT, incorporating techniques such as data augmentation and multitask learning. Specifically, given a question and its context, we generate a series of paraphrases through back-translation. Alongside minimizing the loss between the predicted answer distributions for the original questions—we also minimize the supervised loss associated with the augmented questions. Furthermore, we introduce an auxiliary objective aimed at minimizing the unsupervised loss between the answer distributions of the original and augmented questions. Notably, this auxiliary loss is unsupervised, as it does not directly rely on labels corresponding to the augmented examples. To compute this unsupervised loss, we employ measures such as symmetric Kullback-Leibler divergence and the Jensen-Shannon distance, serving as regularization techniques for the model. The findings revealed that the supervised model exhibited superior performance compared to both the original and our proposed model. However, our proposed model demonstrated a nearly 2% enhancement in both Exact Match (EM) and F1 scores when tested on a paraphrased development set that we formulated. This suggests the potential effectiveness of our proposed approach in enhancing model accuracy and performance.

Edge AI accelerators have been emerging as a solution for near customers’ applications in areas such as unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs), image recognition sensors, wearable devices, robotics, and remote sensing satellites. These applications not only require meeting performance targets but also meeting strict reliability and resilience constraints due to operations in harsh and hostile environments. Numerous research articles have been proposed, but not all of these include full specifications. Most of these tend to compare their architecture with other existing CPUs, GPUs, or other reference research. This implies that the performance results of the articles are not comprehensive. Thus, this work lists the three key features in the specifications such as computation ability, power consumption, and the area size of prior art edge AI accelerators and the CGRA accelerators during the past few years to define and evaluate the low power ultra-small edge AI accelerators. We introduce the actual evaluation results showing the trend in edge AI accelerator design about key performance metrics to guide designers on the actual performance of existing edge AI accelerators’ capability and provide future design directions and trends for other applications with challenging constraints.

AI research and implementations are growing, and so are the risks associated with AI (Artificial Intelligence) developments, especially when it’s difficult to understand exactly what they do and how they work, both at a localized level, and at deployment, in particular when distributed and on a large scale. Governments are pouring massive funding to promote AI research and education, yet research results and claims, as well as the effectiveness of educational programmes, can be difficult to evaluate given the limited reproducibility of computations based on ML (machine learning) and poor explainability, which in turn limits the accountability of the systems and can cause cascading systemic problems and challenges including poor reproducibility, reliability, and overall lack of trustworthiness. This paper addresses some of the issues in Knowledge Representation for AI at system level, identifies a number of knowledge gaps and epistemological challenges as root causes of risks and challenges for AI, and proposes that neurosymbolic and hybrid KR approaches can serve as mechanisms to address some of the challenges. The paper concludes with a postulate and points to related and future research

Herein are reported the main pros and cons of using the conversational Artificial Intelligence (AI) called “ChatGPT” as a tool to write essays in the academic and scientific community. Also, selected mathematical and scientific problems were solved to determine the effectiveness of this platform. To this end, a systematic case study was designed and conducted to obtain data generated by the chatbot that was further analyzed. Six different topics were chosen for the essay evaluation, and the introduction section was created using this AI. Meanwhile, six mathematical problems related to integrals, z-transform, Laplace transform, and resolution of ordinary differential equations were solved. Furthermore, a scientific problem associated with the structural properties of material was also solved. After data analysis, we concluded that the conversational platform could quickly create written essays with well-structured words. Nonetheless, in almost all cases, the chatbot only used basic information to complete the introduction, and no critical writing was obtained. For the mathematical case study, we observed that under the current status of the ChatGPT, this platform has no ability or skills to solve complex equations. Thus, significant changes need to be conducted to improve the performance of ChatGPT for mathematical solutions.

This paper explores the effectiveness of AI-driven personalization in enhancing customer engagement, increasing conversion rates, and improving overall marketing efficiency. It also examines the ethical considerations associated with these technologies, including data privacy, consent, and the potential for manipulation or bias. While AI-driven personalization can lead to more relevant and engaging consumer experiences, it raises critical ethical questions that must be addressed to ensure responsible and fair use. The study concludes with recommendations for marketers and policymakers to balance the benefits of AI personalization with the need for ethical standards and consumer protection.

Backgrounds: The field of Artificial Intelligence (AI) has seen a major shift in recent years due to the development of new Machine Learning (ML) models such as Generative Pre-trained Transformer (GPT) and AI which are progressively becoming part our everyday lives. GPT has achieved previously unheard-of levels of accuracy in most computerized language processing tasks and their chat-based variations. Aim: The aim of this study was to investigate the problem-solving abilities of ChatGPT using two sets of verbal insight problems, with a known performance level established by a sample of human participants. Material and Methods: A total of 30 problems labelled as “practice problems” and “transfer problems”, as listed by Ansburg and Dominowski (2000), were administered to ChatGPT. The answers provided by ChatGPT received a score of "0" for each problem answered incorrectly and a score of "1" for each correct response, as per the correct solution specified in Ansburg and Dominowski's (2000) study. The highest score that could be attributed to both the practice and transfer problems was 15 out of 15. In order to compare ChatGPT performance to the performance to that of human subjects, the solution rate for each problem (based on a sample of 20 subjects) was used, as indicated by Ansburg and Dominowski (2000). Results: The study highlighted that ChatGPT can be trained in out-of-the-box thinking and demonstrated potential in solving verbal insight problems. The global performance of ChatGPT equalled the most probable outcome for the human sample in both practice problems and transfer problems as well as upon their combination. Additionally, ChatGPT answer combinations were among the 5% of most probable outcomes for the human sample both when considering practice problems and pooled problem sets. These findings demonstrate that ChatGPT performance on both set of problems was in line with the mean rate of success of human subjects, indicating that it performed reasonably well. Conclusions: The use of transformer architecture and self-attention in ChatGPT may have helped to prioritize inputs while predicting, contributing to its potential in verbal insight problem-solving. ChatGPT has shown potential in solving insight problems, thus highlighting the importance of incorporating AI in psychological research. However, it is acknowledged that open challenges still exist. Indeed, further research is needed to fully understand the capabilities and limitations of AI in insight problem-solving.

Three-dimensional convolutional neural networks (3D CNN) as a type of artificial intelligence (AI) are powerful in image processing and recognition using deep learning to perform generative and descriptive tasks. The advantage of CNN compared to its predecessors is that it automatically detects the important features without any human supervision. 3D CNN are used to extract features in three dimensions where input is a 3D volume or a sequence of 2D pictures e.g., slices in a cone-beam computer tomography scan (CBCT). The main aim of this article was to bridge interdisciplinary cooperation between forensic medical experts and deep learning engineers. With emphasis activating clinical forensic experts in the field with possibly basic knowledge of advanced artificial intelligence techniques with interest in its implementation in their efforts to advance the forensic research further. This paper introduces a novel workflow of 3D CNN analysis of full-head CBCT scans. Authors explore and present 3D CNN method for forensic research design concept in five perspectives: (1) sex determination, (2) biological age estimation, (3) 3D cephalometric landmark annotation, (4) growth vectors prediction, (5) facial soft-tissue estimation from the skull and vice versa. In conclusion, 3D CNN application can be a watershed moment in forensic medicine, leading to unprecedented improvement of forensic analysis workflows based on 3D neural networks.

The rapid proliferation of Internet of Things (IoT) technology has ushered in a new era of connectivity, allowing billions of devices to produce extensive data. Significant challenges in software engineering need to be addressed for full utilization of Internet of Things (IoT) applications. This article examines the challenges in Internet of Things, software engineering and discusses current developments aimed at addressing these issues and seizing new opportunities. We examine the challenges associated with Internet of Things software development, including resource constraints, device diversity, security vulnerabilities, and data management concerns. New studies have indicated the use of advanced techniques like as containerization, model-driven development, AI and ML integration, and robust security frameworks. Moreover, the significance of system architecture is explained, including the device, network, and cloud layers, with an emphasis on the principles of reusability, scalability, and modularity. Results and conversations explore the complexities of security measures, emerging opportunities, and scaling solutions made possible by simulation tools, penetration testing, and cross-domain development platforms. The study expects IoT system evolution and emphasises the need for continual software and firmware changes, testing, and deployment.
